Terms of Service
These Terms of Service set out the agreement between you and WP Guard when you use our website, download or use our plugins, or subscribe to one of our plans. Please read them. By using WP Guard, you agree to them.

1. About these terms
WP Guard (“WP Guard”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by WP Guard Pty Ltd (ABN 29 670 353 045), an Australian company based in Queensland. “You” means the person or business using our website, plugins or services. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind that company.
2. The products we offer
- Free Scanner: a free plugin that anyone can download and run on their own WordPress site to scan it for security issues. No plan or payment is needed.
- Pro: a paid plugin that runs a deeper scan, at 49 US dollars per month billed annually.
- Guaranteed: our managed hosting and security service, at 1,999 US dollars per year. Founding members lock in a price of 1,400 US dollars per year for the life of their subscription. Guaranteed is the only plan that comes with our protection guarantee.
Multi-site, agency and custom arrangements are priced by enquiry. All prices are in US dollars. GST is not added to these prices.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to buy a paid plan. You are responsible for keeping your account details accurate and your login secure.
4. Licence to use the plugins
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the Free Scanner and, if you subscribe, the Pro plugin, on sites you own or are authorised to manage. You agree not to resell, sublicense, reverse engineer or tamper with the plugins except to the extent the law allows, and not to use them to attack, scan or probe sites you do not have permission to test.
5. Subscriptions, billing and renewals
- Pro is billed annually. Guaranteed is billed annually. Your subscription starts when your first payment is taken.
- Unless you cancel before your renewal date, subscriptions renew automatically for a further term at the then-current price, except that founding-member pricing on Guaranteed stays locked as described above.
- We may change our prices for future terms and will give you reasonable notice before a change affects you.
- You are responsible for any taxes, duties or bank charges that apply to your payment.
6. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account or by contacting us, and it will not renew for the next term. How refunds work for the current term is set out in our Refund and Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that apply to you.
7. The Guaranteed service and the clearance scan
The Guaranteed service is a managed hosting and security service run by our team. Before the guarantee begins, your site must pass a clearance scan carried out by our team, to confirm it is free of known malware and is not already compromised. The clearance scan is part of joining Guaranteed and is different from the free self-serve scanner.
The protection guarantee applies only to the Guaranteed service, and only while your subscription is active and you are meeting your responsibilities under these terms. The specific cover, response commitments and exclusions of the guarantee are set out in our separate Guarantee document, which forms part of these terms. If there is any conflict between a specific statement about the guarantee and that document, the Guarantee document applies.
8. Monitoring and response
Our monitoring runs continuously and is designed so that we will often know about a problem before you do. References to uptime monitoring describe how closely we watch your site; they are a monitoring standard, not a promise that any site will never go offline. Specific service commitments, if any, are those set out in the Guarantee document.
9. Your responsibilities
- Give us accurate information and, for managed sites, the access we reasonably need to do our job.
- Use the services lawfully, and do not host or transmit unlawful, infringing or harmful material.
- Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. We take backups as part of the managed service, but you remain responsible for your content.
- Do not use the services in a way that damages, overloads or interferes with them, or with other customers.
10. Intellectual property
WP Guard, our plugins, our website, our reports and our branding are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. These terms do not transfer any of our intellectual property to you beyond the licence described above. You keep ownership of your own website and content.
11. Third-party services
Our services rely on third parties such as hosting, network and payment providers, and may link to external sites such as wpguard.app. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms.
12. Disclaimers
We provide our services with reasonable care and skill. Except for the guarantee that applies to the Guaranteed service, and except for rights that cannot be excluded by law, the website and the free scanner are provided on an “as is” basis. Security is about reducing risk, not eliminating it, and no provider can promise that a website will never be attacked or breached.
13. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including under the Australian Consumer Law. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue or data, and our total liability to you in connection with the services is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
14. Indemnity
You agree to cover us for claims and losses arising from your breach of these terms, your unlawful use of the services, or content on a site you asked us to manage that infringes someone else’s rights.
15. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if payment fails, or if your use puts our systems or other customers at risk. You can stop using the free scanner and website at any time. On termination, the licences granted to you end, and clauses that by their nature should survive will continue to apply.
16. Changes to the services and these terms
We may improve or change our services over time. We may also update these terms, and when we do we will change the “last updated” date above. For significant changes to paid plans we will give you reasonable notice. If you keep using the services after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and you and we submit to the courts of that place, without affecting any consumer rights you have under the laws of the country you live in.
